If a company suspects their marketing is under-performing or is not aligned with business goals, Chuck steps in to right the ship. He is especially skilled at solving issues in five critical areas: An ill-defined target market, a vague value proposition, dysfunctional lead management, an ineffective marketing plan, or an absence of marketing accountability.
Besondy is a senior-level “player-leader” with 6-1/2 years consulting and interim management experience. This is underpinned by 25 years of marketing leadership primarily within small and mid-market software/Web businesses that place an emphasis on action and growth.
For companies he architects, directs, and implements high value-add marketing initiatives related to product marketing, strategic marketing, and marketing communications. Having hands-on and management experience in every aspect of marketing, he has built an arsenal of battle-tested processes that can be applied to market analysis, competitive analysis, positioning, go-to-market planning, market requirement assessment, opportunity pipeline engineering, and marketing performance management.

For a division of Fiserv Chuck directed a fast-track strategic positioning process that resulted in reducing the sales cycle and increasing conversion rates for a new product. He created an analytical model for BMC Software that evaluated the potential effectiveness of marketing programs leading to a more accurate and realistic view of marketing’s contribution to revenue. He re-tooled sales and marketing processes for Boxx Technologies leading to two record quarters of revenue. As interim VP for iTaggit.com Chuck architected launch plan strategies, tactics, and metrics. He also provided market-centric feedback to drive site design and functionality. Chuck researched and recommended a new niche market for Tengo Internet, an early-stage provider of local WiFi hot spots, resulting in the company becoming the largest provider of broadband wireless service to the outdoor hospitality industry. He evaluated the suitability of eight industries for Infoglide Software’s innovative anti-fraud software platform; recommending three industries for strategic focus resulting in client being awarded major pilot projects (six- and seven-figure deals) within 12 months.
Chuck’s blog, One Riot - OneRanger, is a source of innovative thinking and practical tips on the topic of interim management within the marketing function. Additionally, he is co-authoring a book on the effective use of interim marketing and sales managers for mid-market companies.
Chuck received a B.S. degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon.
